Are car numbers required to be displayed?

Bryan-

Yes. Car numbers are useful for corner workers to identify cars that need to be alerted to something wrong, or "black-flagged", so to speak. While we don't actually issue black flags to the corner stations for an autox, there are still issues of safety that require identification of cars on course and communication with the trailer workers and starter. It is not necessary to have your class designation on the car, though, if there is no timing and scoring going on.

TT
ps- since I am not an autox official, anyone can feel free to tell me I am speaking out of turn here, but that's the way we have done it in the past.

Wow, Tom. That answer was awesome. Have you given any thought to being Autocross Chair?  I'm sure Gary could really use your help in the years to come. 8)

(Pssssst. Gary. Gary! Talk to him. He sounds perfect for the job. If you sneak up on him when he's vulnerable, you might just talk him into it! Quick! Go now! He's got that look in his eye. Go! Go! Go!) :D
