Registration for this event opens at noon today. Direct link is here. Event flyer is here. Hotel and other info are listed. Early registration discount runs through October 1. We are running the 3.1 mile configuration. This will be the final big track event of the year for points, so SDR and Zone 8 awards will be on the line. Detailed driver info letter will be sent to registered drivers about one week prior to the event. Hope to see everyone there.

3.1 mile is the long track... been so long you forgot what it looks like?

Our track is in black.

And here's a video

Your lap driving "Flat Out" in a faded red GSS 944 may look a little different than this screaming yellow Racical.

See you all there.

A SM member sent this to me, check out the new addition.
He and few other club members may join you for only 2 sessions with their roadsters again.
The fast roadster drivers are in the low 2:30s.
In car video of SM members/roadsters.

It remains to be seen if the track's goal of completion by October will come to fruition.

Wow, that mod will seriously speed things up, especially turn 1 entry!

According to information I received from the track, this is a description of the addition:

The extension, located at the southeast corner of the existing 2.2-mile configuration, will include a version of Watkins Glen's famous "Bus Stop" chicane and Road Atlanta's 50-foot wide corner number 1 with banking. After a long half-mile straight and high speed bus stop, you will carry your momentum into a 4 degree banked sweeping Road Atlanta-style turn, while preparing for your right-hand entry up a hill then rotating the car to the left while rolling on full throttle down to the front straight. Your only challenge might then be entering Turn 1 at a much greater speed than you ever have achieved before! 'Is this our next ego check?'

Sounds cool. Then again, I liked the old turn 8 a lot as is.

It may be, but as of now the track has decided that even if it has been completed they will not facilitate our usage of it. Thus plan to run the standard 3.1 mile course.
