100 octane unleaded fuel in Pacific Beach

Postby Bob Gagnon on Thu Sep 23, 2010 10:22 am

I am probably way behind the curve here, but has it been posted that VP Racing has a gas station at the corner of Ingraham and La Playa in Pacific beach that sells 100 octane unleaded at the pump?

Pricey, at over $8 per gallon, but adding a few gallons to 91 octane makes my car, which is tuned for 93 octane (as most late Porsche's are), run better and actually make its specified horsepower which is rated using 93 octane.

They also sell leaded high octane in 5 gallon cans at the station.

Just a heads up for those near PB as an alternative to Cosby near the stadium.

There are a couple of other stations that sell VP Racing at the pump:

Rancho Santa Fe: RSF Mobil, 6089 La Flecha St, RSF (note - $9/gallon)
El Cajon: Mollison Ave, just South of I-8 (adjacent to the I-8 East exit ramp to Mollison)

My Boxster likes it too - seems to run smoother and have more pep. If I could afford it, I would fill it up every time, but if I could afford $9/gallon for gas, I could probably afford to upgrade from my '00 Boxster...
