AX Tech Inspection and Oil Leak

I am wondering what the "OK" amount of leaking oil from an engine is to pass tech inspection at an Auto Cross event. Is it absolutely no oil leaks? A drop here and there? or less than a tablespoon?
I could not find any info on this other than the AX rules that says no leaks of any kind. But we are talking about Porsches...a minor oil leak is fairly normal, no?

The reason I ask, is, obviously, that I have a minor oil leak. Its not much, I would say about 10 drops after the engine gets hot. I believe it is coming from the rear main seal. And that is a job I am really not looking forward to fix. BUT I really do want to AX my 914. I just want it to be "legal" and pass a tech inspection.

If there is nothing dripping during tech you should pass. Of course there is a black flag around if someone notices anything on the track.

A few drips should not be a problem. I have seen cars run with worse. A steady trickle could be noticeable, especially if it falls on the headers and creates the typical "mosquito abatement" cloud of smoke.
Don't ask me how I know this...

I did recently buy new valve cover gaskets from AutoZone (Don't ask me why...) and installed them during my last valve adjustment. They were too big for the valve cover and created a pinch point that allowed oil to pour onto the heat exchangers. If I was chased by the cops, I definitely could of lost them in my smoke screen
I have since fixed that leak and now most of the oil is coming out of the flywheel housing (hence the thought it is my rear main seal that is leaking).

Anyway, thanks for the info and I look forward to being at the next AX!

An leaky valve cover on my 914 got me out of a ticket way back in 83. The officer was having trouble breathing and I think he felt sorry for me.

You should pull the transmission and check what is going on.
Flywheel seals rarely leak in 914's but oil galley plugs do.
These leaks look the same when everything is together.
If you lose one of these you will lose all the oil in a matter of seconds.
These are a press fit and usually let go under severe heat stress like an AX.
