A call to the Corps.

Hi all! It's time to start thinking ahead to October. Please respond to the notice below, and Thanks!

A Call to the Corps!

Calling all Driving Instructors, and Volunteers!

Please mark your calendars! The 2010 Fall PCASDR Performance Driving School is coming up on the weekend of October 8th, 9th, and 10th. Driving Event Chairs (Equipment, Corner-Working, Logistics, Safety, etc.) please mark your calendars and plan to attend. This is a driving event akin to any other event and your assistance is greatly needed.

We need to know which Instructors will be able to teach and are requesting a commitment starting now in order to start planning the event. We will also need non-Instructor volunteers to help run exercises, help plan the days, and assist with set-up and break-down each day. This is also a great opportunity to see if you’d like to become an Instructor and join the “Instructor Corps.” Your help as volunteer is greatly encouraged.

We intend to have an Instructors’/Volunteers’ meeting a week before the school at Giovanni’s Pizza on Ruffin Road to briefly discuss instructing techniques and seek input prior to the school. SDR will provide complimentary pizza and sodas (alcoholic beverages will be available for a charge). More information on this instructor evening will be e-mailed to you and posted on the PCASDR.org forum a little nearer the time.

PLEASE NOTE: If your schedule only permits you attending one day of the school, then Sunday attendance is preferable so all students can have an instructor all day Sunday. Also, due to severe budgetary constraints this year we ask that only those Instructors new to the Corps, or those Instructors who have not taught at a PDS/received a shirt in the last 24 months request a new shirt.

To help us plan, please respond to this notice and answer the following questions:

1) Will you be able to attend Saturday exercises, the Sunday Student Autocross, or (ideally) both?

2) If you are a new member of the Instructor Corps what size shirt do you wear?

3) Please state any preference you have for working the weekend: (e.g., a particular exercise or maybe for instructing students with a certain car).

Please reply to DWChambers@hotmail.com or cdi@pcasdr.org so we can start planning the logistics of the event. The sooner you reply, the better.

Many, many thanks from the 2010 CDI’s!

Hello to the Corps.!

I have sent an email calling on the Corps for this fall's PDS.; October 8th, 9th 10th.

The PDS is exactly one month away. Mark your calendars!

If you do not received an email from the CDI's in the next 24 hours it means we may not have your current/correct email address. So, please respond to the "Call" post and let us update the email listing with your correct email address.

Thanks!

Senor CDI, I emailed you guys that we are in, not sure if you got it.

I was wondering if there is any type of option for the seasoned Instructors to purchase their own shirts to be more a part of the team? Of course, since we are always spending money on tires and mods, it would be great if it were a good price.??

Jennifer: Got your email, thanks!

I'm sure we can work out an "at-cost" price for those who would like shirts.

If your or Martin don't have any shirts, we can arrange to get you two a shirt each as part of membership in the Corps. I'll drop you an email/call at home. 8)

We mailed you back in Aug. and I cant seem to find a reply (I might have lost it). We will be there Sat and Sunday ready to work. (I took vacation...so no the congregation isn't going to have a surprise Sunday morning! ) Additionally, our son-in-law Trevor is graduating from the SD Art Institute with a BA on Friday and we are unable to attend the chalk talk evening. I don't have a shirt and wear an XL. Kari wears a medium if you are gearing workers, if not she will wear her Porsche t shirt, just let us know. I emailed you with this as well just in case

Thanks Dan. We'll be there. We do have shirts so if there is no interest from other instructors to buy new ones - no worries.

What do the shirts look like...assuming they are not hideous I would buy one at cost in an effort to all look the same and have another shirt for the "car shirt collection"...it's my wife's favorite pile of shirts for me to wear. Or, maybe pick the version of the shirt from the last two or three PDS's and those that are not getting new shirts can just plan on wearing that one??? Just another thought. Whatever we do it will be a great time for all!

This is a bump.

We are still shy on the Instructor numbers for this fall's PDS. I've sent a second email to those members of "The Corps" who haven't replied yet.

Let's go, Troups! We still need Instructors and volunteers for this fall's PDS.

Please help in any way you can, or at the very least let us know why you may not be able to make it. Contact the CDI's at:

CDI@PCASDR.ORG

 We thank you.
Team CDI 2010.

+1 on the latest with what is going on. I have no idea if I am part of the helping instructors. If I am, then am I supposed to attend the Friday chalk talk, or just turn up at Qualcomm on Saturday morning.

Thanks.

I suggest contacting the CDI's directly, which is what I did. My plan is to be at the chalk talk to meet and greet. Hope to see you there

In the past Instructors were welcome and encouraged to come to the Chalk Talk but I would like to know as well.

All:

You're welcome to come to the Chalk-Talk. Please be concious of the dinners; they're intended for the Students and we've only got so many to go around. So be sure they've had their dinner before you help yourselves to the food.

Thanks again for your help. The School is the best because our Instructors are the best.

As for Instructors' numbers, we're still a few shy of the number we need. So if you're still on the fence about helping, please commit!

Thanks, again. 8)

Thanks for the update Dan. What time are we supposed to turn up at the stadium on Saturday and Sunday? And for those who want to attend the Friday session, where will this be held, and what time? You may have sent this information out to the instructors, but I have not seen any information on this.

Thanks.

Here's a suggested Instructor schedule for Instructors. Of course, if you want to show up early for set-up ... you'd be a HERO!!!

Friday: 6:00PM at Black Forest (Engineers Rd., Kearny Mesa) NOT EARLIER THAN 6:00
Saturday: 8:00AM for Instructors unless you want to help with set-up (which is desperately needed!!!!!) If you want a hot breakfast, 7:00 - 7:30 ish.
Sunday: 7:00 AM to get your car tech'ed and grab some grub

Thanks to all who help!
