Also seen by the Youngs in early June at the European Porsche Parade in Vienna;

I'm not that much of a Duck-Tail fan, but the desing is awfully sweet, especially with the 19" Fuchs wheels...

A cool car, no doubt, but I don't get the pricing--$240,000 USD???

I thought I heard that the new GT2 RS was $245,000, and it has far better performance specs for only $5K more... :?:

The McLaren MP4-12C is announced to be priced between $225,000 and $250,000.

For the price the McLaren delivers a 600 HP twin turbo V8 with a twin clutch semi-automatic gearbox in a 2866 pound mid-engine chassis made of carbon fiber, not to mention the delivery of "exclusivity" making me wonder how Porsche will sell any 911 based cars at this price level.

I know what I would have.

I saw the Sport Classic on Top Gear and they reported that they were all pre-sold. :bowdown:

BTW, I wanted to buy a set of the "Fuchs" wheels on this car.

In doing my homework, I found they are actually cast wheels by Speedline of Italy, not forged by Fuchs of Germany, and they weigh in at ~ 3o pounds each. Wow.

The wheels may not be desirable from a weight savings standpoint, but at least they are expensive.

Why people would pay this $240,000 for a Carrera that doesn't even come close to a GT3 as far as engine and gearbox is concerned and loaded with faux references to Porsche's past still amazes me.
