SCCA recently announced that SA2000 model helmets will still be allowed for club racing use thru 1/1/12. It seems the delays in production of the new SA2010 standard helmets have not allowed sufficient penetration of the new models into the retail market, so they have delayed implementation for another year. Should Zone 8 be looking at such an extension as well?

It looks as the demand for 2010 helmets is high at the moment, Jennifer received her SA2010 helmet but I am still waiting on my FIA/SAH2010 Helmet from Bell and I ordered it before her. :?

If not a year extension, the Zone should consider 3-6 months. My helmets have timed out. With the poor selection, I might be forced to make a decision between settling for something before January's events, or skipping one or more events.

Tom Brown, thoughts?
