i like it a lot.
'specially when run CW.
I was there a few weeks ago for a "day away" event and saw that they had significantly improved the road surface near the chicane at the end of the straight after the bowl.
Fun / "safe" / challenging to me.

have fun

Definitely a favorite of the local tracks. Plenty fast enough, but very busy. Lots to learn while having lots of fun. I would run Streets over Big Willow any day!

So, I feel like an idiot for not being able to find this out on my own. But when is this track day? I don't see it on the calendar.

Mike-
It's hidden in this thread, posted by Robert on the first page, third post down.

I don't think all the DE/TT dates have been completely nailed down yet, so the calendar's not been updated with them.

going ccw, if you hit the bowl turn-in just right, (the crack in teh surface) the bank increases as radius decreases and the car gets shoved into the pavement and sticks like mad. I make up tons of time there. I also like ccw because you dont have to climb up the straight . I did this in a prepped boxter S and giggled for an hour

I think it's a great track. Very technical. Blow one turn, it'll take two to get it back. Plenty of speed down the back straight CW with a "blind" decent through the waterfall (that ... sadly ... they've "straightened" with big, stable, flat gaters). Class wins can be counted in tenths ... and sometimes hundreths against worthy apponents. Very fast downhill straight if run CCW, with a really fun accending twisties section and straight into the back bowl. Tough on soft tires, but hey ... that's motorsports. This track is about thinking two turns ahead, feeling it, planning your exit/entry strategy, and staying right on the limit ... flat out. Not a big thrill for the "go-straight-fast, high-HP" types. It's about brains not brawn.

Like Jackie says all tracks are worth it. 8)

Mark Bray, come out and "jam it." You'll likely get another class record the way you drove at BW. Paul Young will undoubtedly have some great offs and dust the track for us in many of the right places.

John: you sound like quite the authority on being a Sissy. Why is that? Come to SOW and show us how manly-men drive, will ya?

Oh, is this not the smack-talk thread? Darn!

reschedule it...
These RA-1's on my garage floor are dying to go to Streets and they are too small for my "special" style of driving.

Steve, your "Special Style Of Driving" reminds me of sportfishing's practice .... in reverse.

In sportfishing there's "catch and release." In your case, there's .... well, you know. :burnout:
