Can someone clarify the "fuel in the pits" rule for AX

Postby lagrasta on Fri Feb 11, 2011 11:16 am

I'd like to bring a small fuel container to this weeks autocross. I remember that being discussed at the TT school, but I haven't heard much about it for AX. I'm guessing it's not needed much at AX, but the rule seems to be the same:

G. Any gasoline or gasoline mixture not in the fuel tank or fuel cell of a
vehicle must be kept away from the hot pit area and must be kept in
appropriate containers designed for the storage or transporting of the fuel.

Does "Hot Pit" mean the area where we park for AX?
Do we ever set up a "fuel storage area" during ax?
Anybody else bring fuel to an AX?

Anyone have recommendations on safe fuel containers?

Thanks

Hot pits are the grid area.
Where you park is not the hot pit.
