Driver/Vehicle numbers

Postby Sawfish on Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:19 am

I was wondering if there is an index of drivers and vehicle numbers available to look at? More specifically wondering what numbers might be vailable...

The Club Computer which has available numbers (all 3 and 4 digits) is getting updated and pre-reg won't have it back for a while. But, you can email preregQ@pcasdr.org with a request as a reminder. When we get the computer back, we can email you with some available numbers. Otherwise, this can also be done at the trailer at the morning registration of the event.

You can also go to the event standing here
http://results.pcasdr.org/pca.php?database=

And select season standings. I would suggest sececting the last event of 2010 as that has the larges list.
when you pick a number you car switch to Time Trial list to cross reference.
A little more work but, you don't need the club computer and can then just ask is number xxx available.

Steve's right. If you are planning on TTing or DEing as well as AXing, and would like the same number for all, this needs to be coordinated with the AX Registration Team/Computer and the TT/DE Registration and computer. There are 2 separate computers, and your AX number could be already taken by someone who just drives TTs or DEs.

Re: Driver (NOT Vehicle) numbers

Postby KeithV on Mon Feb 28, 2011 12:53 pm

I have never seen it written down anywhere in either rules or guidelines, but ... for many years the policy was that if a driver does not attend an SDR driving event for 2 years (24 months) their number goes back into the hat.

Are today's registration team abiding by this? or do you have another system - maybe you call the current driver number owner and see if they are OK with surrendering it?

Technically, the numbers are "driver numbers" and not car numbers.

If you drive someone elses car, your number goes with you so that the driver is identified, not the car.

Yes Keith the new and old pre registrars are abiding by this unwritten rule. However, there hasn't been time to go through the entire # list to update numbers that need to go back in the pool. Thanks so much for volunteering  !

But the CAR is classed right? On the results page it says CAR number...
