86 Carrera stolen

Postby Dave Dunbar on Thu Jan 06, 2005 12:59 pm

My 1986 Carrera coupe was stolen from the street in front of my house in La Jolla in the Birdrock area Wednesday night. It was black with a Carrera wing. It appeared to be a professional job, no noise, no broken glass. There are a lot of more valuable cars parked on the street in the neighborhood, so there may be someone focusing on stealing Porsches right now.

Dave, any distinguishing features? Decals?
What's the last 4 digits of the VIN?
What's your cell phone number?

No real distinguishing features other than the paint on the front edge of front deck lid was badly chipped from someone backing into it recently, and it had 7x16 front and 9x16 rear Fuchs rims with black spokes and fairly bad curb scraping on two of them. Last digits of the VIN are 1151. The best number for reaching me is my work #(858) 456-2280 which has answering or forwarding at all times. Thanks for the interest.

The car was found Saturday near the Sports Arena area with the interior stripped out and the shift linkage damaged so that it was undriveable. Thanks to anybody who kept an eye out for it.
