Android Lap Timer Apps

I'm looking for a lap timer app for my Android phone.

1. Any comments on apps people are using?

2. What is the best orientation, location and mounting system for the phone?

Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have.

I use RaceAce. It is free. The car mount system is the best mount as it gives a very strong view of satellites. All phones sample very slowly so the data is interesting, but not extremely useful as when it samples seems to effect things more than driving variations to a large degree.

Biggest issue with RaceAce is I think you need to set start finish every session. Makes a decent lap timer and fun to look at, but a real data acquisition system is far superior. Hard to beat free and mobile for teaching tool the couple times I have used it. I dont think my Droid x can take video while running the lap timer, so I choose one or the other.

I think other Droid apps are slightly better, but cost $10-20.

I like TrackMaster. Once I actually read the instructions and followed them correctly, it did a great job at the last AX. I need to get an external GPS receiver - the Droid's GPS sample rate is a little slow to show real-time effects. One lap came in exactly the same as the official timing (to the tenth of a second) - others varied by up to 1 second depending on when it picked up the start and end points.
