Android App

Found a new app, aLapRecorder, that is great. Still has the slow sample rate issue and didn't like me changing directions at 140mph, but it records video with gauges overlayed (though for export, they are separate files that need to be combined :banghead: ) It even records all the OBDII data if you have a bluetooth OBDII reader. Easy to set start finish and appears it would work well for ax as well. It is $6, so hard to go too wrong and still being developed. There was an issue on my three big files, it failed and I am trying to figure out why. I had set it to 'dim' the screen to save batteries and these files are over 30 minutes. My phone creates a new video file every 30 minutes. I am going to ask the developer if he is aware of the issue and try a test to see which issue caused the problem.

Not perfect, but very nice results for most sessions and super easy to use and figure out. I will eventually have time to post a sample from the POC Tribute weekend.

Not associated at all, and there is a basic free demo to try as well. It is available on the Android market.

Hi Jad,
Have you tried TrackMaster for Android? I have used it at the last two AX events and it seems to work pretty well. Biggest issue seems to be the GPS sample rate and the resolution (+-7 feet, which can add/subtract quite a bit of time against the AX timing equipment). I am thinking of an external GPS receiver to get better resolution and sample rate.
TrackMaster is also in the Android Market - I believe it is $7.99.

I suggested that for Ralph, but that doesn't overlay the video and gauges, does it? It is just a data recorder the last time I looked???

Ah - you are correct. It does do google maps overlays, but not video and gauges. I need to check out the "aLapRecorder" app.
