National DE Instructor Training

Postby Cajundaddy on Mon Jun 06, 2011 7:59 am

PCA-SGV and PCA-GPX are co-hosting a National DE Instructor Training at Pomona Fairplex on July 10th for qualified Zone 8 drivers. If you have significant track experience, are already acting as a regional instructor, or are nominated by your CDI, you can join us to get your National certification. This training benefits both the driver and the club by raising the level of knowledge and experience and expanding our instructor corps within Zone 8. The training process works best if you bring an existing instructor as a mentor to guide you through the program. The cost is $85 for students and no charge for mentors holding a National DE Instructor Cert. Lunch is included.

P.S. This is a training program and not a race. Bring your quiet car on street tires. A Cayenne or Camry would be fine.

I was going to sign up for this, but do you need an invite or can any autoX instructor sign up?

Hi Monte,
Check with your CDI. Every region has a little different experience requisites for the National DE Instructor training.

Last call for National DE Instructor candidates. Registration closes this week and we still have a few spots open. This is the only NDEIT course planned in California this year so take advantage of the close proximity.

The CDI just put the kabosh on X car ax instructors , unless you want to buy a Porsche , then you are magically qualified.

Monte,
I highly recommend you go to this event because you are a PCA SDR Instructor member in good standing with the appropriate experience and are entitled to apply and test for the PCA National Certification at Pomona.

See you there,

Just one question for you, "was this post really necessary?"

I'm a little confused after reading this thread. I signed up for instructor training after consulting with Skip Carter from GPX. Do I need to get clearance from SDR CDI team for this event? BTW I do both GPX and SDR driving events but SDR is my home base.

Fred,

We had a good group come out to the Instructor training course, 33 candidates and 10 mentors including a handful of PCA-SDR members led by CDI Joel Bowman. It looks like everyone passed the course so you will be getting your announcement email as soon as it gets reviewed by PCA National.

Congratulations to all!

+1

I thoroughly enjoyed the training. It was very informational, with excellent instruction and safety focus. The role playing exercise was both helpful and fun.

Thanks PCA for offerring the course.
