I, for one, will have to follow the DYNO path for classification and will have to provide the respective DYNO results. Unfortunately I am still not sure what the power level will be because my car is still not boosting correctly. Hope to have the problem resolved soon so that I can be back at the track with all of you

Found a bug in the classification website. If you try to enter a net HP figure (I presume at the rear wheels) for the Dyno option, if the number is below the listed base DIN HP number, it will bounce you out (even though the website probably adds a dyno correction factor for drivetrain losses, which will make the number go up). The dyno procedures and correction factors were in the latest rules proposals, which have disappeared from the Zone 8 website...

Tom, is Russell's assumption correct, i.e. your website tool has a correction factor for drivetrain losses? If so, what is it?

Mustange Dyno results are multiplied by 1.1 to make them equivalent to Dynojets.

The result from that is multiplied by 1.16 for 2 wheel drive stick shift
or 1.2 for automatic or 4WD

Does this include raised front spindles on SC's and Carrera's? What if RSR-style front struts are used?

Yes, this includes raised spindles on pre -90 911’s.

RSR struts are only excluded from points penalty when on an actual RSR.

Since it is the same end result, it doesn’t matter how you got there.

Really, if you check carefully at the bottom of your class is the information below. The safety rules are only for the modification points.
Also the number we want is your driver's number not PCA # :^)

Interesting...the tool puts me in CC07 with a bone stock 2008 Carrera but says I might qualify for SS08 which is where I thought I belonged. Do I really need to swim with the sharks?

If you are bone stock then you qualify for either. Take your pick

I don't spend as much time parsing the rulebook as some others might and the correct path was unclear to me after reading, so i asked.

Tim,

You should run in CC07. Your competition would be an underpowered 944S, a 968, a couple of older Boxsters, a stock Cayman S and a couple of older 911's. I didn't notice a single shark.
