I don't know when the requirement changed, but in years past I think we were required to have both the car number and class shown on the car. There doesn't seem to be any display of the new 2012 car class required for any driving event, just the car number. Is there any other policy that requires the class designation to be displayed?

As part of the AX pre-reg team, I have several registrations where people have just entered "unknown" for their car class. I have sent emails with links to where to classify your car, and we have several forum threads for reference. The thought has crossed my mind to make everyone who registers without their car class an X Car. Or perhaps there would be a volunteer to walk these people through the process. PM me if you can help. If you are one of the people who entered unknown as their class and now know your class, you can also PM with the info.
Thanks!

I just registered on Motorsportreg. I have an existing account. I was not asked to state my class.
What am I missing?

Though many people traditionally displayed their class, it wasn't a requirement. I found this out as I was one of those people.

There is no requirement in the zone rules to have your class on your car. Never has been in the 20 years I've been in the club. Maybe an old regional rule, but not at the zone level.

Unfortunately Motorsport Reg doesn't make this easy

Goto "My Account" (If there are multiple people on your account, then select the individual)
Goto "Edit Clubs"
Find "PCA-San Diego" (Might be the only one on your list) and select "edit"

Here you find our club questions, the last of which is your class.

Repeat for each person in your account

Thanks Tom for the quick reply. I think I was getting confused with the POC GCR's where the car classification is required to be displayed on each side of the car in minimum 4" alphanumeric figures. I have always put them on our car for PCA events too, but my co-driver (wife) doesn't want them if they're not required. That will save me a little time and effort.

Thanks, Tom, I would have never figured that out.

That brings up another question. When I edited my account it had already listed my class.
How did that happen?

I have just recalculated my class and it is different than what was listed in my account.
