The rules state that you can not weigh more than stock for your model whether you calculate HP/WT or use the base points. Actually, you CAN weigh more, you just don't get any points credit for it--there are no "negative mod points" for being overweight.

You can, however, declare yourself to be another model through the update/backdate provision, which might have a different stock weight.

That is the spirit

Come on out and play. Chuckwalla is a great track, your car will do well against the GT3's there.
But Big Willow or Fontana will be tougher :surr:

Don't give up before you run your first event under the new rules :banghead:

Before you go, Dan, watch the video of Patrick Long driving Chad Plavan's vintage 911ST clone there in the VARA race last Nov. He had never been to the track before, had a couple of quick practice sessions, and turned a 1:57 on cold tires on his first race lap, in an old 2.5L torsion-bar 911 with no aero, and no hard launch out of the last turn and down the front straight, since he had to wait for the green flag.

That time would have beaten ALL the Porsches at our last TT at Chuckwalla, once again demonstrating that it's the driver that makes the car go fast. You don't need no stinking GT3, just a lot of talent. I do wonder what he could have run in a 997 RSR though...

Dan old pal...
Come see me at Chuckwalla and we can go through a few classification options for you.
There is more than one path to get where you want to be.
My Silver car classes out from CC6-CC11 depending on tires and weight... but it is very light.

See you track side.

there are no "negative mod points" for being overweight.
