SD's Last Porsche Dealer to Have a Race Team

Postby John Straub on Fri Feb 03, 2012 8:53 am

San Diego's last Porsche Dealer to have a race team was Alan Johnson Porsche at Rosecrans. I just did a post on my blog about the two years this car raced. Quite a story.

Check it out, lots of photos.

John, you and Vic on the left look great, so does the car.
cant wait to read about it. 8)
ps Vic just bought a shop in Prescott, should be located there this summer.
Did you explain better why the car was flipping through the air just before the start at Sears pt?

John back in the 80s I did some drag racing at Carlsbad.
There was a steep transition from the drag strip to the return road.
Vic was telling me to clear that transition they had to raise the front of the car.
Looking back at the Carlsbad race day photo of the car it sure was nose high that day. :D

Slightly ironic that AJ's old place on Rosecrans is now a Goodwill.

Yes it is...he was the last racer owned Porsche dealership here in SD. I guess times change, and some times not for the best.
