What effect will 110-120 members have on the new Boxster preview?
I know it is a valuable sponsor, and it is not likely that some one that wants a new Boxster will not buy one simply because they miss the preview.
This conflict of dates is difficult at best but the club has many members with diverse interests.
Ax dates are hard to get and we have already reduced the number and in a year or two there won't be any at all.
We should have the right to choose.

If we can survive a TT on the same day as Coronado, we can survive an AX on the same day as Boxster launch.

Oh wait, I have an idea.
We bring the new Boxster over to the AX after the Tech Session and let Greg give it a test run.
I bet that idea would get approved :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

No seriously... That's a good idea to keep everybody happy

I saw only 10-20 people that Autocross at the 991 Tech session
And that is how I came up with the idea for the same day
The next question is did I deserve the Verbal Beating I got from the Clubs President at the board meeting for trying to use that date

The July 28 (conflict with Boxster Tech session) and Aug. 31 (evening) dates were not approved.
The remaining dates are:
Sat. July 7 West Lot
Sat. Aug. 11 SE Lot
Sat. Sept. 1 Labor Day Weekend
Sat & Sun- Oct. 20 & 21 PDS
Sat. Nov. 24 West Lot Thanksgiving Weekend
Sat. Dec. 15 West Lot (may be points event)
We are also looking to see if any of the Sunday dates might be available.
We have not given up on a night autocross yet but did not feel Labor Day weekend was the best time. :surr:

Jerry, Greg,

I didn't see the August 11 date listed above on the club event calendar. Is this an oversight on the calendar or has the Aug 11 date been replaced by the July 29 date?

Just trying to plan a trip to LA and hopefully not miss an autocross...

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,

It is my understanding that the July 29 date was added in addition to the August 11 date, not as a replacement. The emailed calendar I received from the Board for July/August showed both dates. I don't know why the Aug. 11 AX does not show up on the website calendar, perhaps an oversight? There are two other events for that day, so it got overlooked, possibly?

Jerry or Greg can correct me if I'm wrong,
TT

August 11 AX date is yes

Postby Greg Phillips on Thu Jul 12, 2012 3:13 pm

Yes, the July 29 and August 11 dates are good for the autocross. The Parade may be fouling up some of the web calendar work. :banghead:
