I am in on Friday at 2:20pm and my son will be doing the 2:30pm slot! This is cool, I want to see how close this is to reality. I just did a 1:34.1 at Laguna Seca 2 weeks ago in my Dodge Viper ACR.

The question has been asked, so here is the answer

Club members
are invited to early participate in the simulator driving event on 26-27

Sounds like we are going to have ask for membership numbers

Please note that this is a PCA and POC event and the winners will have to verify membership.
No ringers please (getting your neighbors Grand Turismo master son to win for you is out)
Now watch the affiliate membership count jump :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

That's how it should be just PCA members, or at least PCA members to be able to qualify for the top 10 finalists! Both my son and I are members and are looking forward to this!!!!! He just did his first track event with me and the track was Laguna Seca, he was impressive with a 1:52 stock camaro. This is going to be a hoot! :-)

Do we need to register for the tech session on Saturday also?

My understanding is that the top ten drives from Thurs & Fri will be asked to return on Saturday for a final drive-off!
Is this correct? If so, when will we be notified that we need to come back?
What time is the finale on Saturday?

Thanks,

Jesse.

Brandon is taking emails and will contact top ten.
So far half the slots on Thurs and Friday are filled.
They have informed me that they have also invited POC so there should be some good competition. (it's their party and they can invite who they wanna)
The shoot out for top three will be at 12:00 Sat
No need to register for Boxster Tech Session.

I am supposed to get details on simulator and will post when received.

Here's a quick video of one of my practice laps on the simulator at San Diego Porsche today. Pretty awesome. My best time was a 1:26.99. There are still spots open and some great prizes available.

Not a 996 Turbo

They substituted with a 500HP Riley DP

And you start with icicles for tires

You get to figure out the whole setup in 4 laps

Yes, some of us never got it figured out enough to get a timed lap :surr:

But it was fun, looking forward to Q3 tomorrow

I would really like to say a huge thank you to Joe, the new owner at Porsche of San Diego.
This event was very informative and fun, which is not praise I would normally give.

Despite my normal reluctance to even consider shopping at a dealer, my experience today would make me far more inclined to at least talk with them first before shopping for a newer car.

It was great to see all the members out at the event!

See you tomorrow at Qualcomm :D
