Porsche of San Diego

Postby PeterPorscher on Thu Jul 12, 2012 6:08 am

Had my Cayman S serviced at Porsche of San Diego on 7/10/12 and during my visit (without my permission or consent) they removed my Pioneer Porsche license plate frame and installed a Porsche of San Diego frame. I returned (fairly hot) and they gave me a Pioneer Porsche frame. If you care, watch your vehicle on your next service.

Like it or not, this is very common.
Dealers assume a dealer frame is not there by choice, but rather because you don't care what is there; and therefore you wont mind if they change it from one dealer to another.

However, I doubt they'd touch a "non-dealer" frame, such as one of our PCASDR frames....

So, out of curiosity, why do you want give free advertising via mobile billboard for a defunct dealership? :?:

I simply like it. I told a friend about the experience and he wanted to know if they replaced the Porsche emblem with one for VW.

Had a repro Economotors VW of Riverside VW frame from back in the day on the wife's Passat.
Obscure VW racing history frame. Real ones sell for $$$. 8)
A week after a trip to Preston's in La Mesa noticed they had replaced it with a Preston frame.
Fine but the least they could do is return it, just leave it on the floor, don't throw it away.

People are weird about licence plate frames so I always ask.
I have a vintage 80's DIETER'S license plate frame from my first 911. I would be very upset if someone swapped it for something else.

OK- There was that one time when I switched frames when I was doing a PPI on a Kinninger car but I put the Black Forest frames under the floor mat.
And that was pretty funny. :roflmao:

Did you notice the car was instantly a second faster as soon as we took it off?
Now that's funny!

And it is not for sale any longer.

My Back Forest frame melted when I ran it on the Vette.
So I sold the Vette. :beerchug:
