I saw the S...G... in bold red, and said to myself, good, maybe something intelligent worth reading.

NOT

Quesnel has a new 3.6L motor in the fastest 912e on earth...

QUIET... this will be the debut / first time @ willow.

I'll be looking for some right-seat rides also, since it's my first time there. I have utmost confidence in all of the more experienced drivers in the club  . (Should I re-think that?) Nothing to worry about except when I'm driving.

Today, Monday September 17, is the final day for online registration. Price goes up significantly after that for those that must manually register, so sign up prior to midnight tonight if you'd still like to attend: http://msreg.us/WSIR0912.

Hello Time Trialers,

One of my fellow Cayman owners would like to participate in the Willow Springs event. Unfortunately, his wife has to work over the weekend and can't look after their boy. Either he goes to the track with dad or both stay home :surr: . Since I don't have my TT credentials I can't help him out; I'll be in Cononado instead...

Is there anyone willing to look after his 6 year old boy during his run sessions? I know that's asking a lot but many of you out there are very kid friendly so I thought I'd put it out there. Jay promises he is a good kid.

You've done 9 AX's in the past year. That qualifies you as a Novice for TT'ing. Sign up for and attend the TT at Willow this coming weekend (after reading the Zone 8 Rules) and you'll get a Zone 8 Log Book. Get signed off for 4 track days and you'll have your Solo Permit. Do both days at Willow, the October Fontana DE, and after just 1 day at Buttonwillow in November you'll have your full Permit. Bottom line: lack of a credential is not a barrier to you driving at Willow this weekend. Having to take care of a 6 year old, now that's another story.

I do plan on going to the DE at Fontana (would be my 5th DE day this year but I lost a whole day at Pomona when my shifter cable broke) and possibly the Buttonwillow weekend too. I won't bore you with all the other reasons why I won't be going to WSI but not being at that level of big track driving is one of them. Watching the Race at the Base is something I can do though. Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe next year.

False alarm. The little guy has a baseball game that will keep them home this weekend...

Sorry for taking up valuable real estate on this thread.

Will the tire store at the track dismount and flip tires? And for how much $ ?

Contact the track directly to inquire. And don't assume that they won't change their mind after you call. Have a backup plan in place.

Let me give you a few event teasers:

• Mark Rondeau... formally the guy who thinks he is driving a 911 in a 944 will be in a 911. Will he look like he is driving a 944 or a fork lift. (You see a fork lift steers from the back) Ed: Everyone be sure to remind him how shiny the paint looks… and how there are no detail shops at the track.

• Dave Quesnel has a new 3.6L motor in the fastest 912e on earth... But will he loose to a 3.2L car??? (Stir, Stir, Stir)

• Greg and I have made a few minor changes to the car and have new stickers for timed runs. So no tire excuses this time I swear!

Let's just address these shall we.

Mark Rondeau - never dropped a wheel or spun and had some respectable times for his first time at the track in a 911 (Looked more like the 944 than a fork lift) I just need to learn better tire management with this car. It's just so much fun to go fast all weekend.

Dave Quesnel - lost to a 3.2L and a 3.0L(ish) car. :roflmao:

Steve Grosekemper - Smoking fast lap with new stickers.

Monte, how'd you like the ride? I told you there was nothing to worry about.

Awesome event! Can't wait for Buttonwillow. Will another 3.6 lose the battle to the 3.2's?

Mark!
The ride was great, you are one smooooooth driver! You helped me figure out good old turn 9 much better. Thanks Dude!

This would be a great place to also thank Jad, Stevie G and 'Mike A for the rides as well.
I should have been doing that a long time ago! It is interesting to see how the line changes the faster you go

There was one unexpectedly bad outcome from the rides. I totally want a 911 race car now!
Every car was freeking awesome! The sounds in the cockpit are awesome!

Monte, That's not bad. That's goooood! I'll miss the 944S, but not as much now that I've got a new toy that's so much fun to drive. Thanks Steve!
