This is a great track right in our backyard if you live in SoCal. The DE event is open to all drivers with no experience necessary. PCA National DE Instructors will be provided at no extra charge. Final points opportunity for Zone 8 TT Championships.

Note: We will not be running the tunnel configuration due to rough track surface conditions upon exit. Only the best well paved track surface will be used.

Last day to register for this event and with 50 drivers currently signed up there is still plenty of room on the grid. Novices or recent PDS grads are welcome to attend.

Here is the back story on this historic race track:

Ok that was pretty fun. We had rain Sat night so the first two sessions on Sunday were splash and dash Formula 1 style. As the track dried out it just got faster all day. The quality of the track surface is just fine running the esses instead of the tunnel. No car damage issues at all.

Side note... I have never seen so many spanking new 997 Turbo S, GT3 RS, and GT2 RS with novice drivers at one event. I spent the day instructing in a 997 GT2 RS that was 3 months old and the driver had never done any performance driving before. That car is a rocket sled! Wow!

Congrats to George Papagellis who piloted his 996 with suspension and fresh R6 Hoosiers to TTOD.
Chuck Sharp also posted an impressive time in the 944 Spec with "suspension by Mirage" on relatively fresh RA-1 tires. Thank you Chuck and Debbie for running the timing flawlessly.

Chuck Sharp is an outstanding driver. When you say "Relatively Fresh" RA-1 tires" on Chucks car, how many heat cycles does that mean he had on the cords?

Peter,
Thanks for the complement!

On corded front tires, before timed runs, I had the third fastest time and Debby had the seventh fastest time. :D
I replaced the badly corded ones with ones that you could at least see a little tread (relatively fresh!), but the rears were nearly done.
We dropped to sixth and twelth overall, but still our best ever with the Spec Car.

THANKS JAE LEE (Mirage International) !!!!!!! A really good suspension set up REALLY does help! :burnout:

Yes. One often wonders what Debby and Chuck's times would look like if he actually BOUGHT a set of tires instead of fishing them out of the dumpster on Monday after a spec race. :roflmao:
