The sun was in my eyes :(
The wind was blowing sand onto the track :surr:

The new camera mount acted like a Gurney flap and took away all the air off my wing :roflmao:

I left my best tires on the trailer

That should be enough excuses for now :beerchug:

Looks like Mark Rondeau is getting used to the engine being in the wrong end of the car! :D

I think it would be more accurate to say he is getting used to sticker 710's

Tom, I am getting used to the rear engine car. I tried out my first set of new tires on the Silver Bullet at Chuckwalla and I have to admit, I liked them.... a lot! I didn't put them on until the session before lunch on Sunday and they immediately brought my time down by 3 seconds. I was able to take another 1.5 seconds off in timed runs. Now I have to work on set up and a way to keep buying sticky tires.

Jad, :D

Greg, The engine never got in front of both front wheels.

Mark, I meant to ask you at the track - is this a hard decision to switch from Hankooks to Kumhos, i.e. do you think the Kumhos might be a little faster?

The Hankooks I ran on the 911 were 225/245 and were used for for timed runs at Chuckwalla last May (100+ temps!) on the 944S. The 710's are 245/265 and very new and very sticky. Wide with stick trumps narrow with stick. I'll have to see how they hold up. I used to be a lot easier on tires, but I was slower then. I'm planning on staying with the 710's because they come in the optimum size for my car and the Hankooks don't.

Dan,

Even your excuses are cautious, go big with a cup car 3.8l engine, not a wimpy 3.6l. Now if he had 'that' engine then.... :beerchug:
