Paint Shop Recommendation

Postby 996Pilot on Fri Jul 12, 2013 9:16 am

Let me start out with a shout out to the asshat that decided my 2002 Carrera Cab needed to have a box knife taken to the side of it from bumper to bumper. You really had to work at getting something so sharp so that it could make it through 8 layers of clear-coat, base paint and primer all the way to the base metal. :grr: :banghead:

Looking for recommendations near North County (or anywhere) that can do the job right, match the color right, get the clear-coat right and generally get the car back to near show condition. Any thoughts/experiences? I'm also very open to suggestions of who NOT to go to. :nono:

Thanks

We have had very good results from West Coast Specialties in Mira Mesa. They have repaired my Boxster, plus a Mercedes, and did excellent work. That used to be where Pioneer Porsche (now Porsche of San Diego) sent all their body work.

I have also heard good things about Amato's in Sorrento Valley, but have never used them myself.
