Several years ago after a Mirage open house Jae gave me his tasty marinade recipe.
Kal-bi Marinade:
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon shaved ginger
5 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1-1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
I run this through a food processor or a blender until all ingredients are processed. Marinade your boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or favorite meat) for a few hours. Over night is even better. Grill and serve over sticky rice. I usually double this recipe.
These ingredients can be found in an Asian grocery store for a lot cheaper than at the chain super markets.
