Well run day, other than the corner working delay thanks to the Knauf's and Mistaks . Tim picking fights with kind passerbyes while corner working didn't help either

The track was a lot of fun. At first, driving at 80% it was too straight and boring, with a couple of excessively tight corners. As the day wore on and I pushed more, I found at 90% that was a very challenging track and I still have no idea of the fastest way to brake, turn, exit a couple of the corners. I don't think anyone really nailed that track (except Tim C.) NICE DRIVE in a spec car! A few more laps and I know I could save another second or two, though the last corner was still excessively tight Never did get near 100% as the cones started flying as I tried

I agree, great driving by Tim Comeau in the 944Spec car making Top Ten Time of Day list. Grea job, Tim!

Jad, not to sound like a know-it-all but you might remember the quote from another thread:

"So, the idea was to get you thinking about the next couple of turns and surfaces ahead. Huh, a thinking man's track .... go figure!"

I was hunting for lower times all day, and I was directly responsible for the track! I'm sure we could all have shaved a few milli-seconds off our times with more attempts... Even Andy G., who got Top Time of Day in his HM class 911. Way to go, Andy!

A big thanks to the Morning Crew, the Evening Crew, Jerry Mize and Glenn Marlin (Glenn made Top Ten Time of Day... way to go, Glenn!) who make sure we have equipment, Timing Crew who had to deal with all kinds of crazy re-runs and delays, and a BIG thanks to my Co-Chair Gary Burch for working his B*tt off all day.

Barring any boo-boo's surfing the reefs of Bali, I'll see you all back at the track in September for the A-X/QDE Weekend on the 11th/12.

Nice track set up Dan, had a great time in my 2nd AX. Was glad to help out in the red run group corner working duties. CARMA..... i.e. after coming back from my timed runs I had lost one of my magnetic numbers, I walked the track not to be found but on returning to my car someone that found it stuck it on my open trunk. A BIG Thank You to who ever you are, can't wait for the next one

Great track...Even in a Tip Boxster with street tires. The swale crossing was fantastic, like it wasn't even there. This was so much fun, i might not wait 18 months to do the next one..

I, too, want to thank Dan and Gary for a very enjoyable day. That was one helluvah track. The first few runs, those turns just came out of nowhere at ya. After starting to learn the track better, yes, there was alot of "thinking" going on, as Dan said, thinking about the turns coming up ahead, trying to keep the whole thing in my mind.

I found it to be a fun, quick track. And even though my times are near the bottom of my class, the good part is that I improved some 6 seconds on the day, from my first run to my last.

Oh, and by the way, you guys really must like late apex turns!

Hey, thanks for the kind words, guys..........
I really take driving and instructing seriously.
I loved that track, and I told Gary and Dan that several times. It was challenging throughout and safe to boot!

Can you believe that knucklehead guy who cut across the lot? He brought the event to a standstill, then shoved one of our corner workers, almost knocking him down? Sorry I delayed the event a little further, but that was just so wrong that I couldn't let it go. He was spitting out blood and teeth when I lifted his 285 lb hulk over my head and body slammed him down right at the feet of the Stadium Security guys.

Other than that, the whole day was great. Russ McKee and I had a blast working on his driving and swapping rides in our 944-spec cars. He was nice enough to lend me his car for my timed runs, since it had better tires.
Can you believe how light and nimble our cars are?! (2600 lbs and a great handling car.)

I'll throw in my kudos for a great event to the autox team as well. I was sick with a summer cold and was burnt out by about noon, after coming at 6:00 AM to work tech, so I just ran my timed runs in the first group and went home to bed, but I'm really glad I went. It was a good track and a nice day, and I enjoyed it even though I was ill.

Agree fun track, imho the line was pretty basic. Getting the brakeing zones right was my problem. Fun slalom, after the smooth swale crossing I had it in my mind to theshold brake for the tight off camber left, but couldnt do it with respect to the painted lines and rough asphalt. I'd like a shot at that one again, put that course in the Top 40 west lot track file.

Dan C thank you for your efforts. He was a big help from before 5:45 (when I got there) till the trailer was loaded at the end of the day. Have a Mai Tai for me!

Burl the most correct name might have been 70s Rod Stewart.
