Jim: It's tough trying to type at the computer when you're underneath your car turning bolts! I think everyone is prepping for this weekend, and can't get enough done in a day to get to their computers. Since I'm passing on the Fontana weekend, I'm one of the few not scrambling to "get 'er done" before Thursday.

Should be fun hearing all the stories next week. For now, this is the forum's "Calm Before the Storm."

Wonder if Curt A. will chase down Jad, or Vise Versa? Wonder if Martin will pull Jad in? Wonder of Dan A. will even find the track with that progressive senility of his (You don't need 2nd gear, Dan...)? Wonder of Steve G. will finally stop pimping Hectar and drive his own race car? Wonder if HM will replace AM? Will they all throw up their hands in disgust and run in AR2? Wonder if Tom Tweed will drive in GP class in a 911? Wonder which of the 944Spec drivers will take the Track Record for 944Spec: Chuck Sharp, Greg Sharp, Mark Foley, Bill Addy (You still got that car, right Bill?), Tim Comeau, Someone from up north? Wonder if Mike Gagen takes TTOD from the "Simone Posse?" Will Anthony D., Jae Lee, or Jim Copp reel Mike in ... or even leave him in the dust? Wonder if Ted buys a new 356 engine on Monday the 2nd?

Oh, the possibilities.....

I'm looking forward to the stories. Have fun, Y'all.

Figured as much, that's why we spent all Saturday loading the transporter. I hope they come out faster than they go in  Dawson and I are running POC and PCA...me w/ 2 cars he w/ one...that's ALL he needs tho. I'm liking my odds for the cup races, since they split them @ GT-3R. Probably just cursed myself.

Hector's car is in the final stages of pimping and this will most likely be the last event for me in his car. I think he is quite enjoying the arrive and drive service however...

I am trying to get more time to work on the 914 but there is just no spare time... Really miss driving it and have already signed up for Parade so time to get to work.

I gotta hand it to you; that's one fine ride you built for Hector. You've done a great job on it, and it shows. I'm sure it will be fun to get back into the 914 after this "little break" you've had   . It will be great to see the 914 out again. 8) TTOD will be a challenge.....

Now, Hector will have to find someone with a truck and a trailer to bring his ride to the track for him and share the fun. Hmmmmm. I wonder who wants to do that? Heeeeey ..... wait a minute .... I have a truck.........

I don't think TTOD will be within my reach with all the Uber beasts being built with breathed on 3.6's
(Unless a lot of cars have a very bad weekend)
As long as I go faster than I went in the old car I will be happy. Sorry to report there will be no 3.6L in the 914's future...

Dan nailed it for me. Today my dad and I installed, new rotors and pads, a new sway bar, a window net, a rear tow hook and half of a kill switch. Tomorrow is the rest of the kill switch, a CV axel, seat brace and lots of little things like stickers, wings, etc, etc, etc.

Hopefully Fontana is quite fun and much faster. Might even try to give Lowyder a run for his money in the club race....

If your car is set up as well as Neal Wright's red turbo, we'll have a blast. He and I had some great duels w/ POC. I'm sad to see him running a spec 944 :(

Partially my fault that Neal won't be running the Red car, I decided to test the 993 in the TT this weekend and Neal was left with the Spec car (not enough time to get both cars ready for CA). But don’t count him out in the POC race. The car is running strong with a lot of improvements over WS. You can definitely look for Neal with the Red car at the Tribute as I will be piloting the Spec in the Cup races.

I would say the POC Spec race(s) will be very exciting this weekend.

Nope--I won't be there, I just finished taking the FP 911 completely apart yesterday, prepping it for the paint shop. So far I have refrained from running it in GP, but I have noticed that it was faster than the GP cars in both the autocrosses I tested it at this year.

Gosh, REALLY?!?!? Huh, go figure....... :? Let's see: 2250 LBS with... what.... 160+ BHP at the wheels? Vs. 2900 to 3100 LBS with ~125 +/- BHP at the wheels ...... and you're faster???? How can that be? (Can't you just smell the sarcasm??? Kinda like burnin' rubber :x .) Okay .... just ribbing you, Tom. That will be one nice racer when you're done. (I'll have to coach Jackie and Jackie on the art of losing gracefully in GP  .)

So, what will become of the silver/gray 911 formerly of AM class? Retired? retro fitted to another class? Hate to see a good 911 sittin' in the barn...

what?

Postby Jackie C on Tue Mar 27, 2007 1:19 pm

Dan and Tom,
You should know by now I don't do anything gracefully. I still have lots of points left in GP and am weighing options now that I'm out of 944SPEC. Still working on the car for TT and the club race in a couple of days so I'll be back later to finish my BS!

It is still in AM (thankfully, by using the recently clarified update/backdate provision), and I may bring it out to an event or two while the FP car is in the paint shop (depending on how long it takes). Then the plan is to put it in for paint next, as I have been running it for years with the fenders and bumpers still in primer.

After that, I am going to have to make some hard choices, as I have too many cars and something is going to have to get sold.

 So many race cars, so little time. Maybe you should do what Jim Copp does: buy a hauler and bring 'em all to the track. Take turns running different cars all day :roflmao: Now ... how many ribbons can Tom take home in one day? And Oh .... how to calculate the BRI...
