I run in both clubs too and the BMW DE events are definitely oriented towards limited to no experience students with "lots" of instructor control compaired to PCA events and full on classroom sessions between run groups for everybody from fastest run group on down. There low emphasis on "going fast" but a high emphasis on "education". It is great to come off your session and go to the classroom with everybody from your run group and all the instructors to talk over what went on and what to do better.
Nothing is final yet, but I think this is how the new PCA 'DE' program will be as well. A DE will no longer be defined purely as a TT without timing. It is going to be a fun, educational stepping stone as was originally intended. Sign up for SOW and help the program survive as best case it will only be offered a few times a year. Do not wait and see how it developes as it may not

So, my initial questions has been answered, no instructor will have to get into a GT3 with a driver that has zero track time and run one of our normal DE/TT sessions at full speed
